Sonoma plays host to numerous annual events:


August

Sonoma International Film Festival ~ A celebration of independent filmmaking that captures the richness of the human experience, complete with Sonoma’s historic town Plaza as a backdrop for you to enjoy great film, food and wine. https://www.sonomafilmfest.org/


May to October (Tuesdays)

Farmers’ Market ~ Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to dusk, Sonoma Plaza.


May (First Sunday)
Cinco de Mayo ~ Food, games, and entertainment celebrating Mexican-American culture, Sonoma Plaza.


June (First Saturday)
Vintage Car Festival ~ Enjoy local wine, gourmet foods, and a stroll around the Sonoma Plaza with an up-close look at more than 30 vintage race cars from the Wine Country Classic Historic Car Races, held at Sonoma Raceway. 


June (First Sunday)

Hit the Road Jack ~ A premiere wine country run, offering a 10K certified course, and also a 2.2 mile course, directly benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs Valley of the Moon and Hospice By The Bay. An entire day of activities follows the Run at the Sonoma Plaza. www.hittheroadjack.org


July (Fourth of July)
Independence Day and Sonoma Community Celebration ~ Morning Parade followed by food, wine, games, and entertainment on Sonoma Plaza, plus fireworks at dusk.


July (Third Weekend) – August (Second Weekend)
Wine Country Film Festival ~ This popular festival takes place outdoors in spectacular settings and in select theaters/venues in Sonoma Valley and Napa. www.winecountryfilmfest.com

Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction ~ An epicurean event of wine and food with more than 200 world-class wineries and chefs showcasing their talents at winemaker lunches and dinners, a show-stopping Taste of Sonoma, and Wine Auction. https://www.sonomacounty.com/sonoma-events/sonoma-county-wine-auction


October

Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival ~ A celebration of the Harvest, including a Patrons’ Night, the blessing of the grapes, the Bear Flag Revolt, a wedding re-enactment and parade, the Bottle and Glass Dash, and of course, wine tasting. 


December (First Friday)

Sonoma Downtown Holiday Celebration ~ Santa’s arrival, tree-lighting, and more, 5:30 p.m., Sonoma Plaza.


December (Second Weekend)
Christmas at the Mission ~ An annual Sonoma tradition, combining holiday spirit with community history. Sonoma Barracks to Mission San Francisco Solano, nondenominational services, free admission with reservations.
